General Atomics' new drone radar can track balsa wood drones
General Atomics (GA) has introduced the "Eagle Eye" multi-domain surveillance radar system, designed to detect and monitor aerial objects, particularly small drones, for the US Army. This radar system will be integrated into the US Army's advanced "Gray Eagle" drones, specifically the 25M variant, which is already in production with the "Eagle Eye" radar incorporated.
The system's capability to identify small drones has garnered significant attention from militaries worldwide due to the growing prevalence of drones. This trend is particularly evident in active conflict zones such as Ukraine and more recently, regrettably, Israel. In these areas, drones have demonstrated their effectiveness in combat situations, particularly against tanks, entrenched personnel, and stationary gun platforms.
