VALOR EMS (Emergency Medical Services)

The VALOR EMS curriculum contains a variety of immersive scenarios intended to support medical simulation training for emergency medical services personnel at all levels of training. Clinical scenarios take place in a variety of settings, such as in-home and community locations and within ambulances. The curriculum has a wide breadth of medical emergencies, including cardiac and respiratory complaints, pediatrics and obstetrics, traumatic injuries, and behavioral emergencies, and aims to simulate both clinical decision-making as well as the complex psychosocial and environmental challenges inherent to emergency medical services. Objectives, expected interventions, and available equipment can be is adjusted as needed based on the intended learning population. VALOR EMS was developed in collaboration with the Stryker School of Medicine at Western Michigan University Department of Emergency Medicine.
